In general terms the genuine Holden Astra roof parts / components are replaced every six to seven years. That is to say everyone that has owned a roof for seven years has replaced the latches and then followed by the Hydraulic oil lines. The replacement of these components is due to plastic degradation, in warmer climates the replacement cycle reduces to fives as the rate of degradation increases.

Another week another failure somehow a backyard mechanic (autotrimmer) has used cable tires to keep the latches from coming apart. This is a first when the Owner's partner got in the car to open the roof the hydralic pump failed costing $7500. The owner was not a happy camper particularly when the autotrimmer was not going to assit in the replacement of the pump.
ALNO Product Services are now supplying Hydralic lines along with the Hydralic oil. For more information in the oil and or oil lines please contact Alno Product Services.
